How
can I determine which clip ons will best fit my glasses ?
How
do I measure my Frame ?
There are two ways
to determine which clip ons will best fit your glasses:
1) The first and the
most accurate method " Our recommended method
", is to simply take the following measurements directly
off of your glasses, using the template below.

A) The shape of
your Frame |
= |
Please see our
clip on page |
B) Frame Height |
= |
Inch or mm
(1 inch = 25.4 mm) |
C) Frame Width |
= |
Inch or mm (1
inch = 25.4 mm) |
D) Overall
Frame width |
= |
Inch or mm (1
inch = 25.4 mm) |
Next select one of
the three clip on pages below, to locate your desired clip
ons using your measurements in this order. (Height x Width)
Please Note: If your
exact dimensions falls between two different size clip ons, we
recommend that you pick the larger of the two.
A) Clip
on Sunglasses / Polarized Clip ons.
B) Anti Glare, Night Driving,
Computer & Shooting Clip-ons.
C) Clip-on
Sunglasses with Color Mirror Lens.
2) The second
method (and admittedly the crudest and the least accurate method
), is by simply looking at the numbers on your frame.
You will see a series
of numbers which may look like this (51 - 18 - 135)
A) The first "two
digits" "51" indicate the width of one
lens.
However you need the
"frame width" since the clip ons fit over your
frame and not over the lens, and more importantly you also need
the "height of the frame", since as you see in
our catalog, we carry several frames of the same shape and with
the same exact width dimensions, however the height is different
in all cases, therefore this method could potentially mislead
you into purchasing the incorrect set of clip ons .
B) The second "two
digits" "18" is your bridge Gap. This number
is of little use while selecting your clip ons.
C) The third number
"usually three digits" "135" is the length
of the arm piece. This number is also of no use while selecting
your clip ons.
As you can see these
numbers are incomplete, at best, and unfortunately do not
offer much help in selecting the appropriate set of clip ons.
You would still need to measure both the height and the
width of your frame, in order to ensure that the clip ons
that you are buying will properly fit your glasses.
Next select one of the three clip on pages below, to locate
your desired clip ons using the width of your lens .
Please Note:
Our clip ons are listed in this order "(Height x Width
)", therefore if you have used method #2 in determining
your dimensions, you will be looking for the second number "
Width" to find a matching set of clip ons.
Once again, if your
exact dimensions falls between two different size clip ons, we
recommend that you pick the larger of the two.
A) Clip
on Sunglasses / Polarized Clip ons.
B) Anti Glare, Night Driving,
Computer & Shooting Clip-ons.
C) Clip-on
Sunglasses with Color Mirror Lens.

What
do the numbers on my frame mean?
This is what the numbers
that appear on your frame denote:
The numbers may look
something like this : "47 18 138"
A) The first number "47" is the width of one lens (frame
not included.)
B) The second number "18" is the bridge Gap.
C) The third number "138" is the length of the arm piece.
As you can see you would still need to measure both the height
and the width of your frame, in order to ensure that the clip
ons that you are buying will fit your glasses perfectly.
